Real and Hypothetical conditions
we use a Real Conditional when
A. Something is always true or generally true. (Zero)
If + S + Present , S + Present
eg) If it rains, you get wet
eg) If you buy one, you get on free.
eg) If you don't study, you don't pass exam. ⭐
B. Something is likely to happen in the future as a result of a possible action/situation (First) = Real Possibility
If + S + Present , S + Future ( will / going to /// can / could / may / might -> uncertain /// should -> advice) + infinitive
eg) If I see my dad later, I'll say "Hello".
eg) If I don't study, I won't pass the exam. ⭐
⭐ 얘네 둘은 문맥에 따라서 모두가능할것임.

We use a Second Conditional to talk about an imagined situation in the present or future.
A. Is not real. (Second)
If + S + Past Simple , S + Would/could/might/should + infinitive
eg) If I had million dallars, I would buy a house. (present)
eg) If I saw her, I would ask her to marry me and she would say no. (present)
eg) I would go to Korea tomorrow if someone gave me a ticket (future -> 미래 시간을 써준다.)
If I were (!!!!!!!!was 아님!!!!!!!!)
: With the second conditional we use 'were' for all persons.
- We sometimes use 'could' (~할 수 있을거야), instead of 'would' (~할거야) when we are speaking about an imagined ability / possibility. (Result 파트에만 Could 쓸 수 있다)
eg) If I could fly, I'd fly to the moon.
eg) If I could meet Elvis, I would ask him a lot of questions. (Passt Simple)
eg) If I could buy a lot of things if I had a lot of money. (Result)
We use a Third Conditional to talk about an imagined situation in the past.
B. Was not real. (Third)
If + S + Past Perpect , S + Would/could/might/should + have + Past Participle.
eg) If England had won the last world cup, I would've been very happy.
eg) If I hadn't come here today, I would have slept longer.
eg) If i'd worked harder at school, I would've passed my exams.
As if / As though
if only
Alternatives to If
A. 'unless' to mean 'if not'
eg) Unless we go now, we'll go late. : 지금가지않으면, 우린 늦을것이다 (Zero)
B. Provided / Providing, (접속사 : ~라면)
as long as
or on condition / that (만일~라면)
to mean 'if' and 'only if (~해야만 -> 강조의 의미)'
C. Supposing, Suppose, Imagine, Let's say to something is unlikely
eg) They promised to give me a million pounds on (the) condition that I never tell anyone what I know.
eg) Supposing ou were a millionaire, what would you buy?
eg) Imagine you only had one day to live, what would you don?
eg) Let's say she asked you to marry her, what would you say?
